Aleutian Housing Authority Homebuyers
As stated in the MHOA, the Homebuyer is responsible for routine and non-routine maintenance and care of the unit and common property, including all replacements. If you have a maintenance issue that you are unable to resolve yourself, you have the option to have a Word Order issued. Work Orders can ONLY be generated by contacting the Anchorage Office. Homebuyers are responsible for ALL charges associated with the Work Order.
The following fees apply:
- $50.00 Minimum Fee for each Work Order generated.
- The total cost for all parts and shipping.
- Labor costs are billed at $50.00 per hour.
If you have any questions regarding the Work Order process, or if you need to have a Work Order generated, please contact Melissa Robbins or Isabel Velez in the Housing Department.
In order to protect the continued occupancy of the Homebuyer's family, AHA shall to the fullest extent feasible, ensure that the successorship of a Mutual Help home is within the Homebuyer's family. Designation of a successor is made at the time of execution of the MHOA. Changes can be made at anytime by filling out the Designation of Successor(s) by Homebuyer form.
AHA will conduct inspections of each unit in accordance with AHA Inspection Standards.
The Homebuyer is obligated under the MHOA to participate in pre-occupancy, post occupancy, periodic, pre-move out and final move out inspections.
Inspections are conducted to ensure that the home is being maintained in a decent, safe, and sanitary manner. Homebuyers will be notified when inspections are scheduled for their community.
AHA does business in accordance with the Federal Fair Housing Law and Americans with Disabilities Acts and provides equal housing opportunities as applicable.
