This position provides the Executive Director and Board of Directors with relevant and legally required financial data necessary for budgetary and financial decisions; oversees the efficient and timely performance of all organizational accounting functions, including audits; and manages all Accounting Department staff.

Responsible for overall oversight of all AHA accounting functions. Responsible for developing and implementing Accounting Department goals, projects, procedures, methods and controls. Ensures all financial records and systems are in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Ensures that AHA is in compliance with HUD, State of Alaska and any other applicable accounting regulations.

Primary responsibility is to ensure the facility building and grounds are maintained in a safe and comfortable condition. Coordinating with the Housing Services Department move-in/out inspections and change activities. Communicating regularly with the Housing Services Manager needed repairs for the facility and tenant interactions. Maintain daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance schedule. Work with tenants to ensure compliance with lease requirements and obligations. Monitor units to ensure tenants keep units in a safe, sanitary, and comfortable environment at all times.

Lead Carpenter
Construction of new homes, maintenance, and repair of homes and apartments located in the Aleutian/Pribilof region of Alaska as directed by the Construction Director or Project Manager. Work consist of but not limited to: rough and finish carpentry (e.g. floors, sub-floors, floor joists, rim joists); installing cabinets; installing doors; plumbing fixtures; laying vinyl floors covering; hanging sheetrock; taping, mudding, sanding, painting, and weatherization work activities that reduce energy consumption. Employee will regularly perform maintenance and repair of homes and apartments. As directed, employee may also be required to repair/replace leaking pipes (CPVC and copper); replace wax rings; set replacement-plumbing fixtures; install replacement electrical fixtures; and perform weatherization work activities to reduce energy consumption.
